I just had an interesting conversation with ChatGPT about potential points of attention for companies that want to use the ChatGPT API.

ChatGPT is well aware of his/her (?) own risks:

💰 Costs: The cost per API token can add up, making frequent use expensive for companies.

🔗 Dependency: Relying on a single platform can create problems with flexibility and diversification, making companies vulnerable to future changes or technical issues.

🛠️ Control & Customisation: By using a third-party A.I. service, companies have only limited control over the underlying technology and the ability to adapt it to their specific needs.

🔒 Data privacy: Data privacy concerns may arise when sensitive information is shared with external AI platforms.

⚠️ Homogeneity: Dependence on A.I. output can lead to content similar to that of competitors when companies omit their own creative input.

To mitigate these risks, ChatGPT itself suggests the following:

1️⃣ Explore alternative A.I. platforms and services to reduce dependency and optimise costs.

2️⃣ Where possible, develop in-house A.I. models for greater control and adaptation to specific business needs.

3️⃣ Monitor and manage the costs associated with using A.I. services to ensure they remain sustainable and provide a strong ROI.

4️⃣ Implement robust data privacy and security measures to protect sensitive information and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.

5️⃣ Use generative A.I. output as a starting point or supplement, not as the sole source of content, and regularly update A.I. models with new, diverse data to ensure evolution and improvement.

ChatGPT is a fun and powerful tool, but it is still new. In addition, competition is on the way and the future of the platform is still very uncertain, so think before you begin.
